This past Saturday I had the privilege of celebrating a dear friend, Natalie Grant’s, birthday! It was a surprise party that she had no clue about and we were told to dress in 1920′s garb! I thought it would be fun to attempt a 20′s hair-do so I did what any 21st century girl would do…google it and check YouTube and THANKFULLY I got some helpful “how-to” hints! Here’s the final product…what do you think?

Nashville, Tn –November 11, 2011—Hawaiian native Tiffany Thurston will be releasing a three-song self-titled digital EP on November 22. This EP is a snapshot of what fans can expect from her in a full-length album to be released in 2012. This release is composed of original songs from Thurston and co-produced by Richie Pena.

This Renaissance woman has spent the last four years touring with some of the industry’s finest. As the worship leader for the REVOLVE tour since 2007 (Women of Faith’s teen girl conference) and sole back-up singer for four-time GMA Female Artist of the Year, Natalie Grant, Thurston has been building a solid reputation. With her mixed make-up of eight different nationalities she has a heart for worship, the nations, and the next generation to “bloom where they are planted.”

How did I get to the 2011 World Series you ask?

Who thought that an online social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters, informally known as “tweets” would be the vehicle in which I would get to Game 1 of the 2011 World Series in St. Louis, MO???

It all started on the Sunday Night before…my roommate basically made fun of my zeal after the Cardinals beat the Brewers leading them to the championship later that week in which she “tweeted” …

“My roommate @tiffanythurston has lost it. Start the campaign! #getTiffytotheworldseries” -@abbylane

I re-tweeted it and the next day a friend “direct messaged” me to see if I really wanted to go? I said YES!!!!!!! To which he helped me get tickets at a much lower price. I will leave his name anonymous so that he doesn’t have more people hit him up! But THANK YOU to that person…you know who you are!!!

So…I made a little video of the experience and invited my friend, Kyle Reed, to go along since he was the biggest Cardinals fan I knew in Nashville!!!

1. You’re blessed when you’ve lost it all. God’s Kingdom is there for the finding.
2. You’re blessed when you’re ravenously hungry. Then you’re ready for the Messianic meal.
3. You’re blessed when the tears flow freely. Joy comes with the mourning.
4. You’re blessed every time someone cuts you down or throws you out, every time someone smears or blackens your name to discredit me. What it means is that the Truth is too close for comfort and that that person is uncomfortable.
5. It’s trouble ahead if you think you have made it. What you have is all you’ll ever get.
6. It’s trouble ahead if you’re satisfied with yourself. Your self will not satisfy you for long.
7. It’s trouble ahead if you think life’s all fun and games. There’s suffering to be met, and you’re going to meet it.
8. There’s trouble ahead when you live only for the approval of others, saying what flatters them, doing what indulges them. Popularity contests are not Truth contests. Your task is to be true, not popular.
9. Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst.
10. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person.
11. If someone slaps you in the face, stand there and take it.
12. If someone grabs your shirt, gift wrap your best coat and make a present of it.
13. If someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life.

These words of wisdom and Truth spoke to me so much that I had to draft them in list form to internalize them a little better. I thought I’d share it with you as well…and hope it helped you in some way too!

There’s only a week left of  the #21dayCHALLENGE …the homestretch. That’s when things get hard for me.  I’ve never been the best at finishing things I start! But hope you are all doing well…and even if you’ve missed a few days don’t beat yourself up over it…the main thing is that we’re in the Word of God and gleaning from it and “working it into our everyday lives!”
