DIY: #BoardAndBatten Entryway

This was our first official #HomeRenovation that we did back in August 2020 and I realized I never posted an updated pic!

I started following @a_house_is_built during quarantine and she had done a #BoardAndBatten project and basically walked everyone through it on insta so that really gave me the confidence to try one and this was the perfect beginner space in our home to “sample” it! Thanks Leslie for the inspiration and encouragement!

We also got some precision cut help from our friends @timberwithloveshop since we don’t own any power tools and they let us borrow their nail gun too which made this project fast and fairly easy!

🧰 MATERIALS (all from Home Depot):

-Wood (I think it cost less than $50)

-Finishing Nails $8 (that we didn’t even need to use thanks to @hokugarza + @nalani.garza letting us borrow their nail gun

-Liquid Nails FREE (Thx Hoku +Nalani from Timber With Love Shop)

-White Paint (BEHR Pure White Scuff Defense) $36 (didn’t even use half of the can - used the rest on other walls to refresh entryway)

-Painters Tape $7

-Painter’s Roller Kit $11

TOTAL: $112 (but honestly less cause we didn’t use all materials on this and since it was our first project we “invested” in some things that help us with our current projects.)

LOVE this project because it’s what welcomes people when they visit and it showed us that we can do #Handy things…and if WE can…so can YOU! Happy DIY’ing!
