RECIPE: My Famous Guacamole

I honestly can’t even believe I’m gonna share this recipe because it’s been my “secret recipe” for years now and I love making it and seeing what people think and if they can tell that I add an extra special ingredient that I think really takes it over the top! But it’s been a rough year and we could all use a good guac recipe if our lives so here goes nothing!

This is such a simple recipe and it really stands on whether or not your avocados are ripe and ready.

My AVOCADO trick: I buy the 6 pack from Costco and just leave it out for a few days until it’s ready. You know it’s ready when you can squeeze it and you feel some give but really it just takes practice and the more and more you use avocados the more and more you’ll figure out when they are at just the right ripeness to enjoy!

On that note:

2-3 Ripe Avocados

1/2 Chopped Onion (can use sweet onion, red onion, your neighbors aunty’s sister’s onion - whatever onion you like - you just need about half)

1/2 Lime and squeeze the juice out of it (and honestly when I’m in a pinch and don’t have a lime I’ve even used a lemon and it works!)

1/6 Orange and squeeze the juice out of it (that’s the SECRET ingredient)

Salt + Pepper to taste

And that’s it!

Optional Ingredients to Add:

Jalapeno’s to your liking

Cilantro to your liking (my husband doesn’t like cilantro so I stopped adding it)

Tomatoes to your liking (my kids are allergic to tomatoes, yes I know so sad, so we stopped adding it but I honestly don’t miss it!)

Lastly, serve with your favorite chips and enjoy…it’ll be gone before you know it!
